We ran Take Action Day on February 16th and it was a great success. Take Action Day was inspired by small acts of kindness and the way that they can spread to make a huge impact. Thanks to all everyone who made the event such a success! Across Canada, we had over one hundred students engaging, inspiring and impacting others. Some were giving out free hugs, passing out hot chocolate and performing other acts of kindness. Others were filling whiteboards with kind messages that were on display to inspire the passerby.
We also collected numerous photos and stories and will be sharing them at on our facebook page. This was our first year running Take Action Day and next year’s event to make it even better. Keep an eye on www.takeactionday.com to see our upcoming plans for next year!

Take Action Day is a day to show that small KIND ACTS can make HUGE IMPACTS. Just one act of kindness can have a ripple effect in your community. By performing small acts and passing on good deed onto others, you will create chains of acts of kindness that can multiply into many, many more.

We are looking for students at universities to volunteer a couple of hours on the day of Feb 16th. We need your help to:
1. Get others to fill on large boards with “short kind messages” that will show how large amounts of small acts can accumulate and make a large impact. These boards will also be showcased on-campus after the event
2. Be a leader by example by helping others and passing along “take action cards” that inspire positive actions

Congratulations Take Action UofT for running a HUGELY successfully Children’s Holiday Party. The Children’s Holiday Party is an annual party is held to provide a festive event for under-privileged children from the community. Children are provided dinner, games and crafts, and numerous gifts.
We impacted over 80 children and had over 200 people involved. It was a fun filled evening and both volunteers and children alike found it a great chance to connect and celebrate the festive season.
We raised over $1000, had over 100 gifts and lots and lots of fun. We whole-heartedly thank all volunteers and supporting organizations in helping make this party possible. Without your continued support, this positive event would not be possible.

I start with the premise that the function of leadership is to produce more leaders, not more followers.
